The North Shore is home to some of Sydney’s oldest surviving residences.
Today, grand Federation and Victorian-era houses continue to stand tall lining leafy streets more than a century on from when they were first built. A stroll through suburbs like Wahroonga, Killara or Roseville shows the deep links to the past with sandstone manors, Federation cottages and tree-lined avenues that have remained largely unchanged since the late 1800s.
As locals well know – the North Shore isn’t a single architectural story. The Lower North Shore is best surmised as prestige, blue-chip harbourfront territory where federation style homes rub shoulders with contemporary stone and glass designs. The North Shore, on the other hand, is defined by its sandstone manors and grand estates on sprawling blocks that simply do not exist anywhere else in Sydney.
As North Shore architecture and design specialists, our work spans across a broad range of residential architecture and design projects across both the Upper and Lower North Shore. Design Process
Step 01
Initial Meeting
Let’s discuss your vision, the site, and the requirements – whether it’s a new build or a renovation.
Step 02
Schematic Design
We’ll conduct a feasability study to understand opportunities and align the project with goals and budget.
Step 03
Concept Design
Our architects then conceptualise the design ideas specific to the brief and site foundations.
Step 04
Developed Design
The next phase involves developing the design in line with materials, foundations, and project management.
Step 05
DA Documentation
Architectural drawings and supporting documentation for Development Application submission to either Mosman, North Sydney, Willoughby City, or Ku-ring-gai Council.
Step 06
CC Documentation
Following DA approval, the design is further detailed into Construction Certificate documentation for tender.
Step 07
Construction Management
We provide project management in handing over the designs to the construction team, with regular site visits to ensure implementation is seamless.
